To say that I’m delighted with my iPad is an understatement. The iPad has become an indispensible tool in my family’s daily lives. Through the work day I use various applications to get news, take notes, track nutrition and exercise, and plan my day. I occasionally listen to music and at lunch, listen to Podcasts, read books, or play games. If I’m away from my desk and need to look at my calendar, it’s easier and faster to go to the iPad instead of opening my laptop.
At home, my wife chooses the iPad over her laptop to view the weather, browse the internet or play games. We even used the iPad to plan and guide our summer vacation, navigate en route, and find hotels - on demand - along the way.
My two-year-old son navigates the iPad interface with ease. We use several applications to help him learn the alphabet and colors, and he knows how to use YouTube to search for videos of cats or trucks. The touch interface is so natural and powerful that he has even tried using gestures to navigate pages and pictures when interacting with traditional computers.
I carry the iPad with me everywhere. Frequently people ask about the device, so I put the iPad in their hands and invite them to explore while I tell them about my experiences. Everyone who interacts with it is amazed.
There is no doubt in my mind that the iPad has change computing forever – and I’m thrilled to be part of it.
